recursive slinky?

Hello all community

This is my first post at NKS. I'm a designer, and I don't have a scientific educational background, but I'm an "algorithm enthusiast".

I don't know if my topic is appropriate to this section or this forum, so feel free to lock it or delete it if doesn't;

I have a question regarding the mathworld slinky model:
http://mathworld.wolfram.com/Slinky.html

I'm building a project where I need to add layers of recursiveness for the slinky;

the slinky formula describes a coil formed by a coil; I need a formula of a coil formed by a coil formed by a coil;

It would be really great to have a general formula where new enclosing coils could be added, but 3 coil levels is already good enough.

Can anyone help me with this? My math understanding is very limited in this topic.
I'm really grateful for any response.

and if somehow this topic is not appropriate, please let me know where can I post it...

thanks!
