Can anybody explain, why the
very similar series

Series[(x(2 - x))^(Sqrt[1 - x]/2),{x,0,1}]

and

Series[(x(1 - x))^(Sqrt[1 - x]/2),{x,0,1}]

are calculated differently in Mathematica 5?

If the first one leads to "Series::esss: Essential singularity...", the second works good. And how to calculate the first?
