NKS explorer mathematica kit

I would very much like to be able to add to/customize a few of the functions provided by the NKS explorer mathematica kit. I tried opening the .m file associated with the package, but it just comes up as a single huge string of characters. Anyone know how I might view and modify the functions that come with this package? Thanks a bunch.
