NKS Analysis

Several examples appear in chapter 8 of the NKS book of the mapping of a complicated real world phenomenon to a simple program. What I would like to know is whether or not there is a systematic way of doing these analyses. I actually only finished reading the book yesterday. And, this is my first post on this forum (Hello everyone!). So I may not have built up enough NKS intuition to perform this kind of analysis naturally yet. But I would be interested to learn the proper method, so that I won't just be groping about in the dark if I want to study using these ideas.

Hi trbo.

As I understand the current situation, there are a lot of independently devised methods for doing some modelling with NKS. Some material on some of these methods exist on the NKS summer school website.

This issue was talked about during some lectures at the NKS midwest conference in Indiana last year.

The keynote talks from the conference were recorded and are available here.

Hope this helps.
