Suggestions/Directions for NKS Music?

As you might have seen in this forum or elsewhere, I've written an open-source program, Automatous Monk, which uses cellular automata to generate melodies. Although there have been quite a few downloads of Monk, I really haven't gotten many enhancement requests.

For future versions of Monk, I would like to expand Monk in not only musical directions, but also in more of an NKS direction, if that makes any sense. I have lots of ideas on how I can expand Monk in musical directions (for example, I would like to incorporate some of Harry Partch's ideas on "Just Intonation" into Monk). However, I'm really at a loss as to ways that NKS can be used in music in an organic manner, rather than just 'spinning off' constructs used in NKS, such as cellular automata, and using these constructs to generate music, which seems to me like perhaps a superficial or incidental use of NKS.

I guess that what I really want to do is to make Automatous Monk more of a sort of Musical NKS Explorer, if that makes any sense.

Anyway, if you have any concrete suggestions, ideas, or enhancement requests, please let me know either through the Automatous Monk project site at SourceForge.net or through this forum.
