Even though there is some material in the book on diphantine equations (e.g. on universality and a table of interesting cases) there is a need to understand their place in the computational universe. Even more so because they have been well-studied traditionally in theory and practice.
Attached is an article I wrote on this topic for the conference book for the recent WCSCM2011 workshop in Mexico city (which was well-attended by NKS SS alums).
