An NKS-like theory of everything

Recently I started reading the second half of the pdf found at http://www.motionmountain.net/research/index.html which I discovered after reading http://arxiv.org/abs/0905.3905
I would summarize it thus: this is a NKS-like theory of everything!
Instead of cells getting black or white, there are crossings that exists in one sense, in another, or not at all. But all the rest is quite similar: crossings move, crossings appear and they disappear. And to each "crossing switch" there is an associated size and action value.
Has anybody checked this out yet?
