Hi, I will be attending the NKS Summer School 2008 and I'm interested in meeting other people. I lead the Minciu Sodas laboratory http://www.ms.lt for serving and organizing independent thinkers. I want to learn how to do research with cellular automata. I plan to model and test Nikos Salingaros three principles of architecture which I think of as maximizing deliberateness (and the ability to differentiate structures):
* on the smallest scale: alternate atomic states
* on the largest scale: minimize entropy
* and have as many intermediate scales as possible but keep them separate by at least e (2.718...) so that as you take derivatives, the spacing increases rather than decreases.

I am even more interested in learning NKS as a tool in my own quest to know everything and apply that knowledge usefully http://www.worknet.org/wiki.cgi?LivingByTruth/Overview
I would love to build bridges to the NKS community, for example, to work together to make available databases of calculations that can expand our opportunities for thinking empirically.
Who else will be at the Summer School or would like to introduce NKS to other independent thinkers?

Hi,
I have used Lego to explain some of the ideas behind CA to kids (age 9-14). Some of the material is (in Dutch) on a website www.kidzlab.nl
